For this trip, I had a few considerations:
1. It was going to be cold, with possible snow. Turns out, they had a bit of snow the day before, and it WAS cold (probably just above freezing).
2. Wet: since we got some of that end of season snow, we were in for some rapid melt. I wanted to stay dry.
3. Lightweight: It was only 1 night, so I didn’t need to bring a ton of extra stuff. But, I compensated for that by bringing some extra warm clothes (i.e down pants).
One thing I failed on: Not bringing my extra insulating underpad. We ended up camping on snow, and I was pretty darn cold through my Exped pad.
